Profiles Tab
The Profiles tab lists all active writing profiles on your account and is where you add, configure, and remove them.
How the Default Profile Works
One profile is always designated as the default. When you create a new idea card without explicitly selecting a profile, Riterly uses the default automatically. To change which profile is the default, click Make default on any non-default profile. That profile becomes the default immediately.
What Each Profile Row Shows
Each row in the profile list displays:
- Profile name
- Color dot — the color assigned to this profile
- Niche — the content niche the profile is configured for
- A link to the profile editor
- A link to the sandbox
- Make default — visible on non-default profiles only
- Delete — visible on non-default profiles when more than one profile exists
Adding a New Profile
Click Add writing profile at the bottom of the Profiles section. This launches the writing profile wizard, which steps you through niche selection and the Voice Workshop. The new profile is added to your list when the wizard is complete.
Changing a Profile's Color
Click the color dot on any profile row. A picker opens with eight color options. Selecting a color saves immediately — there is no separate save step.
Deleting a Profile
Click Delete on a profile row to remove it. Deletion is a soft delete: the profile is removed from your active list, but any content that used it is not affected and the profile's history is preserved.
Two constraints apply:
- You cannot delete the default profile. Set a different profile as default first, then delete the one you want to remove.
- You cannot delete a profile if it is the only one remaining on your account.
